Introduction
After working as an interpreter for a number of years, Aldo Grimaldi arrived at photography through his admiration for "street-photographers", who inspired him very much towards the production of the sort of images generally described as "reportage photography" or "photojournalism". He likes plain, straightforward pictures in which man is perceived as a central, though not necessarily visible figure.
Aldo acquired the technical knowledge of the craft at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, but much of his inspiration comes from street life and city environment. His pictures have appeared in a number of magazines and have been frequently exhibited. He lives in Rome.

General Education: High School. Foreign Languages: English (University of Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency), French (Université de Nice), German (Mittelstufe Zertifikat des Goethe Instituts, Berlin).

 About his Photographs

If you live in a country like Italy, it will be practically impossible to ignore its great number of artistic and historical references. Sooner or later they will become part of yourself and they may even influence your visual approach. The result of this can probably be seen in Aldo Grimaldi's photographs: present-day situations within a historical or artistic setting, a mixture that gives birth, perhaps, to "different" images.
